Flowers

Dave and I spent the evening with DnA on Friday . we went to a new (for us) Thai place while Dave was a jiu jitsu and then he met up at their place later. We looked at a bunch of pick and talked about earthquakes amongst other things. Here's the pics from A!!

A and I at Kualoa last time we camped in February (right when it started raining.) cheek-squishing the tea bottle.

This, and the next one, is a ginger (don't know which kind) flower from the Waimea Valley Audobon Garden.

Here's DnA - I'm not sure where, they're just going to have to get on here and tell me.

Divine Hammer

So I have spent the last 3 days hammering my brains (or more literally, my back and my shoulders and all the blisters on the hand..) out in Ewa Beach. Gotta love gauge testing!

Anyway, I hate to admit it, but I've been sucked into myspace.com - I made a profile a year ago and totally forgot about it until my ex-boyfriend's little sister Catherine found me on Tuesday. Since then, it's been a whirlwind of getting in there and putting up pics and adding my schools and finding people that I haven't seen in *8* years! I was schocked how long it's taken me to figure out who some people are from their pics! But I have to admit it's been great re-connecting and finding out what people have been up to.

Pretty pics

and it's my 101st post - geekgeekgeek
=) Steve sent me the albino peacock a while ago.. interesting, it would be fun to see one of those strutting around the yard.

And the star pic was from the APOD.. yesterday? something like that. Dave you should learn how to take those kind of pics!

People of the World.... RELAX!

Especially me!

I had forgotten how funny Tom Robbins is, but maybe I just needed a good break so I could appreciate it again. Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates is doing it's best to take me out of the grumpy funk I've been in because of being sick all weekend. I've had a headache since Friday night! yuk. But Switters and Maestra are making me giggle - with the possible fun addition of confusing Nick and Lisa - entertaining me while Dave is off twirling fire on the North Shore hanging with the astrokids. So I'm getting some much needed single stitch and bitch time. Not that you can really bitch when there's no one to listen to you, but I've been bitching enough lately - without any stitching.

Indecision

I can't remember if someone sent this to me or if I found it or what, but it's funny - if you'e not aware of it, South Dakota is trying to make all abortions illegal unless the life of the mother is at stake.
It would be great if a bunch of women actually did this-maybe I should call him and ask him if I should spend a crap load of money I need to be saving for school to go to my friend Ken's wedding instead of going straight home via my uncles house (it will cost me an estimated $500 extra, so total of ~ $1200-1300 instead of $750). But it will be so much fun! yuk.

Ups and downs

Yesterday James called me and told me that I'm accepted into the Tai Hsuan acupuncture program! Very exciting! I'm busily filling out my taxes and fafsa forms to see how much (if any) money I can get. Im hoping that keeping my current job full time or close to full time will not drive me crazy with classes a few nights a week and all day Saturday.

As for the downs, I was watching the news this morning eating my cereal and there was a story about this guy who fell into the Ala Wai Harbor last Friday. Apparently he's getting eaten alive by flesh-eating-bacteria. The dr's have already taken one of his legs and want to take the other one and maybe his arms too. yuk! What a shitty thing! Just for falling into the water! I'm sure this seems extreme, but when you think about the fact that last week there was 50 million gallons of raw sewage pumped into the canal, it doesn't seem that crazy. And people are swimming at Waikiki. And there were stories last week about people going in anyway, cause, like, I don't care.. I gotta surf. Fucking idiots! This guy got released from the hospital and them had his leg sawed off a day or 2 later! it goes that fast.
I can't help but feel bad for the guy too.. I mean don't have the best sense of balance (right Sean.. *grin*) but what a thing to have happen from an accidental fall like that. I know the article in the Advertiser implys that he was drunk but still.. I doubt he'll live through it, and even if he does, he'll be a parapalegic. I don't know why he wouldn't have mentioned what really happened with where he fell (you'd think the Dr's would have noticed some kind of smell..) I sure as hell would have.

Anyway, if you haven't lost your breakfast yet, and you're itching for more infortmation of this nasty bacteria check out the National Necrotizing Fasciitis Foundation.
